Originally settled in 1868 by W.S. Frasier, the hypenated name, Milton-Freewater, Oregon was created in 1951 from the merger of Milton and Freewater.  The MFDA is proud of our history and focused on revitalizating our Main Street.

Responsible for: educating others about good design, providing good design advice, and encouraging quality improvement to properties and public spaces, planning main street development, and motivating others to make changes

Responsible for: promoting Milton-Freewater Main Street Districts, culture, and community life for both residents and visitors.

Outreach Committee

Responsible for: raising money for projects and administration from donations, sponsorships, and grants; managing staff and volunteers, promoting the main street program, and managing finances and good accounting procedures.

Responsible for: analyzing current economic condition, identifying opportunities for market growth, strengthening existing and recruiting new businesses and supporting the overall health of the district.
